The Corporate Change Portfolio Lead will own the day-to-day management and delivery of a portfolio of strategic, simplification and improvement change initiatives across various corporate functions within Nucleus. Also acting as a key change partner to the business to understand the change roadmap needed to support their business objectives.

The role will require working with cross-functional teams, Business and Executive Sponsors to support delivery from initiation, definition, business cases and planning, delivery, transition to live and review/closure of a range of initiatives of varying complexity, aligned to our strategic goals.

As the Portfolio Manager we will be looking for you to build strong relationships with the Executive and Business Sponsors, acting as their trusted adviser in respect of change. By understanding the dynamic nature of the financial services industry and the evolving needs of the business, this role supports the identification and prioritisation of key strategic change initiatives that will enhance Nucleus' competitive position, drive innovation, and improve customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will also own monitoring delivery across the portfolio, working with the Project Managers to identify dependencies, cross-cutting risks/opportunities and putting in place any mitigation plans.

You will hold significant portfolio management experience, working within a regulatory business with a proven track record of successful deliveries. You will hold excellent C-suite stakeholder engagement skills and will provide confidence in delivering to a change framework whilst achieving the stated business benefits.

You will ideally have experience of delivering strategic change for a business that operates as a complex multi-entity organisation which has grown by inorganic activity, via acquisitions, with the potential for future acquisitions.

You will work closely with, and report to the Director of Technology to deliver the prioritised change portfolio ensuring adherence of the Nucleus Change Framework and Governance Model. The role plays a vital role in guiding the organisation through various change initiatives delivering to deliver strategic initiatives, process improvements and technology implementations.

This outward facing role requires effective leadership experience with well-developed collaborative and stakeholder management practices, acting as a trusted advisor and change advocate, to ensure alignment between change initiatives and business strategy.

You will be comfortable deputising for the Director of Technology and providing input into continuous improvement of the change framework and policy.

Overall, the purpose of a Change Portfolio Manager at Nucleus Financial Services is to drive and manage change initiatives that enable the company to adapt, innovate, and thrive in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape. By successfully working with their portfolio Executive Sponsor, this role supports the achievement of business goals, enhances operational efficiency, and ensures Nucleus remains at the forefront of the industry, delivering exceptional value to its clients and stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
  • Work with the Executive Sponsor to define a portfolio vision and strategy that aligns with the organisation’s goals and maintain the portfolio roadmap and backlog.
  • Be responsible for the successful delivery of the portfolio’s strategic change initiatives and business improvements across the functions of the business, ensuring change is monitored, managed and supported effectively.
  • Create actionable and robust project plans for specific deliverables and identify risks/issues to put in place mitigation plans.
  • Support the adoption of the change framework and adherence to the change policy, ensuring all appropriate documentation is in place.
  • Ensure all associated projects within the portfolio are appropriately financially tracked and managed within the allocated budget.
  • Continuously monitor the realisation of benefits and report on the outcomes to the Change Funding Forum and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the orderly flow of changes within the portfolio, ensuring effective delivery to avoid overlap and conflict whilst also providing input and having awareness of the overall ‘air traffic control roadmap’ for the Nucleus Group.
  • Build and maintain relationships across the business to facilitate smooth transition from delivery to business and address any challenges.
  • Foster innovation and mitigate risks to ensure the portfolio’s value stream contributes to the company’s success.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other functions to achieve the portfolio goals and ensure effective communication with Executive/Business sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Produce purposeful and accurate reporting and MI. This includes analysing and synthesising reporting data to provide actionable insights that enable effective troubleshooting, early interventions and prompt decision making.
  • Own resource allocation for the portfolio, inputting to the Change resource forum.
  • Stay up to date on emerging trends and technologies within the platform industry.
  • Lead, develop and mentor people in line with our people strategy and vision creating a high performing team and a clear line of succession.
  • Coach and mentor the team in effective delivery of change.
  • Deputise for the Director of Technology where required.
  • Undertake any other duties to achieve the purpose of the role.

Proven track record of successfully delivering a change portfolio, which included both strategic and business improvement initiatives. Experience in strategic planning and business cases. Ability to adopt a structured approach to managing the cumulative and collective impact of a portfolio of change. Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, including proven experience of engagement with senior and executive stakeholders. Excellent experience in managing business and technology risk and financial budgets. Proven experience of working with outsourced service providers and technology suppliers to deliver time critical change. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proven record of managing resource allocation for change initiatives. Excellent experience within wealth management and platform business. Strong understanding of Information Technology systems and processes that support a corporate environment. Strong IT skills including all elements of Microsoft Office. Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent MI and reporting skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations as they arise. Experience with portfolio-management tools and software. Can operate at a senior level and provide vision and direction to staff whilst understanding the detail.
