AtkinsRéalis is embarking on an exciting journey to become a global leader in providing Decommissioning & Waste Management services. We seek creative individuals to shape our teams on a global scale. Successful candidates will be based out of our Rutherford House (Whitehaven) office, but will deliver high‑hazard decommissioning work at client sites as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. They are expected to support other team members outside this specific discipline when needed.

You will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team of over 150 waste, radiation protection, delivery and environmental professionals supporting construction projects across the UK.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings with key personnel including the client.
  • Complete hazard screening sheets from information provided by key personnel.
  • Produce adequate Risk Assessments for construction tasks/projects.
  • Provide advice and guidance on Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Co‑ordinate multiple resources.
  • Provide project updates and forecasts internally and externally.
  • Act promptly on non‑compliance issues/participate in investigations where required.
  • Represent the project at stakeholder meetings.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team, including graduates and apprentices.
  • Support other team members by sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Ensure the safe delivery of specified site‑based work packages.
  • Achieve SQEP status.

About you:

  • Experience in Nuclear Construction Decommissioning/Waste Management.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and flexible, and willing to travel to client sites as required.
  • IOSH Working Safely qualification; CSCS NVQ level 3 minimum.
  • NEBOSH General/Construction desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build and develop relationships internally and externally.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers and suppliers.

Additional information:

Security clearance may be required for this role. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed during the interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of UK residency of at least 5 years.
