The role:
As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time—supporting the smooth running of essential projects that underpin national security and energy infrastructure. This is a full-time, 37 hours per week role based in Warrington, Cheshire or Devonport, Plymouth with flexible working patterns available.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Processing payroll data and supporting monthly payroll activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Checking and inputting timecards, resolving queries and discrepancies efficiently
- Supporting colleagues and stakeholders with payroll-related queries and administration
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with payroll processes and procedures
- Working collaboratively with the wider payroll team to meet deadlines and deliver a high-quality service
Essential experience:
- Using Microsoft Excel with confidence, including functions such as VLOOKUP
- Working in a fast-paced administrative environment with high attention to detail
- Demonstrating adaptability and the ability to manage changing priorities
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders and team members
- Managing workload to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Payroll or finance-related qualifications would be advantageous
- Previous payroll experience would be beneficial but not essential
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
