The role is a hands-on position where automotive engineering and electronics come together. You will work across the full lifecycle, from system integration through to testing and fault resolution. Along the way, you will grow your technical capability, strengthen your experience in defence engineering, and open the door to long-term development within a global organisation.

Day to day you’ll:

  • Design and integrate vehicle electronic systems including power distribution, control units, communications and sensors.
  • Test electronic systems in laboratory environments and on completed vehicles to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose faults, resolve technical issues and improve overall system performance.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and ensure systems meet regulatory, safety and military standards.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians and wider teams to deliver effective vehicle solutions.

The role is based onsite at Walsall, and the set working times are Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays, totalling 39 hours per week. Overtime is also available.

Essential experience:

  • Time served experience in automotive electronics, electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Experience working as an automotive or electronic technician.
  • A strong automotive technical background or hands-on vehicle electronics experience.
  • Proven capability in power, control and electronic systems.
  • Experience fault finding and supporting system integration activities.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and NPPV2 security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
