Support frontline aviation operations through effective logistics and supply. At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Supply Chain Operative at RAF Valley, near Holyhead, North Wales. Working within our Aviation business, you’ll join a small, specialist team supporting the T2 Hawk programme. Your role will be critical in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, components, and documentation that enable aircraft operations and contract delivery at the RAF station.
As a Supply Chain Operative, you’ll provide hands‑on logistics, warehouse, and administrative support across the supply function. Reporting to the Supply Manager, you’ll help maintain accurate stock control, ensure timely issue and receipt of parts, and support both internal customers and external suppliers.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Issuing serviceable and unserviceable items to internal customers and external vendors to meet operational demand
- Receiving serviceable and unserviceable items into stock, including first‑time receipts and repaired items
- Controlling and moving restricted items in line with UK and US legislation
- Using stock management systems (IMS) and Microsoft applications to place demands and record transactions
- Supporting stocktaking, tool control, and accurate filing of all supply documentation
This is a full‑time, onsite role, working 36 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:15, Friday 08:00–16:00). Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
Essential experience:
- Experience working in a logistics, warehouse, or supply chain environment
- Understanding of stock control, receipts, issues, and inventory management
- Ability to work accurately with systems, documentation, and procedures
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in Maths and English
- Full, current UK driving licence
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many positions are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship, and residency.
