The Role

As a Service Transition Manager, you’ll be at the heart of delivering Skynet – a critical programme supporting the UK Ministry of Defence. This is your chance to make a real impact by ensuring seamless service transitions that keep our nation connected and secure. You’ll work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with military personnel and stakeholders, while developing your career in defence, aerospace, and engineering.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Manage service transition activities and governance processes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including military personnel.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Communicate effectively with third-party suppliers to remove blockers and maintain smooth operations.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with up to 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Experience of the Service Transition Manager

  • Familiarity with ITIL V3 or V4 (beneficial but not essential).
  • Understanding of commercial or satellite communications (advantageous).
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance (DV clearance is beneficial).
  • Previous experience in IT Service Management or similar role.
  • Project Management experience.

Qualifications for the Service Transition Manager

  • Project Management qualifications such as APM PFQ or PMI CAPM.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
