The role

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll lead the delivery of complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects from early concept through to Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC). This is a senior leadership role where your technical authority, people leadership and strategic thinking will directly influence safety‑critical outcomes on projects of national importance.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities:

  • Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to deliver agreed scopes safely, on time and within budget
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance as a design or technical authority when required
  • Manage engineering resources, priorities and risks across complex project environments
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and maintain strong relationships
  • Develop people’s capability through coaching, mentoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full‑time role, working 37 hours per week, based at Warrington, Cheshire or Preston, Lancashire. Hybrid working patterns are available, and travel to other Cavendish Nuclear and customer sites may be required.

Essential experience:

  • Extensive experience leading complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams of managers and senior engineers
  • Strong technical assurance capability across regulated engineering environments
  • Experience delivering engineering scope from concept through EPC delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
