The role

As a Senior Business Support Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a pivotal role at the heart of our Naval Nuclear business, supporting Waterfront Operations‑an essential function delivering berthing, diving, rigging, waste management and maintenance of marine assets.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Lead reporting activities, coordinate key performance indicators and produce insightful dashboards
  • Prepare business unit review packs and facilitate cross-functional meetings
  • Develop forecasts and support business cases to drive contract growth and change
  • Manage contract risk reporting and support mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to track actions and improve operational performance

This is a 35-hour per week role, based at Devonport Dockyard. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience:

  • Strong analytical and advanced IT skills for data interpretation and reporting
  • Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Problem‑solving skills to address complex operational and business challenges
  • Financial awareness, including reporting or forecasting exposure
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP (desirable but not essential)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a STEM or business‑related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
