The role

As a Security Vetting Coordinator, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our people, projects, and national security commitments. You will deliver accurate and compliant security vetting processes, ensuring colleagues and contractors can safely access the environments where critical defence and engineering work takes place.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Processing Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks and national security clearances accurately and efficiently
  • Managing vetting applications and renewals in line with government standards and company policies
  • Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure timely onboarding
  • Maintaining secure and accurate records while handling sensitive information in line with data protection requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance vetting processes

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, based at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Hybrid working arrangements with two/three days based on-site.

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrating strong administrative and organisational skills with clear communication
  • Using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word, with confidence
  • Providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Applying high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding data protection principles and handling sensitive information responsibly

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
