The role:
As a Survival Equipment Supervisor, you will lead a specialist team responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective maintenance of survival and aircrew equipment. Your leadership will directly impact safety performance, regulatory compliance, and overall operational effectiveness. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you’ll guide a high-performing team, drive quality standards, and ensure critical equipment is always ready for use in demanding environments.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Leading and supervising a team delivering survival and aircrew equipment maintenance
- Ensuring all activities meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards
- Overseeing inspection, testing, and certification of equipment
- Driving team performance, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Coordinating work to ensure outputs are delivered safely and on time
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This role is full-time, 40 hours per week, based on site at MOD Boscombe Down, Wiltshire.
Essential experience of the Survival Equipment Supervisor:
- Proven experience in survival or life support equipment maintenance
- Experience leading or supervising within a technical or engineering environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
- High level of personal responsibility, flexibility, and accountability
- Knowledge of military engineering standards, procedures, or equivalent
Qualifications for the Survival Equipment Supervisor:
- Formal engineering training (RAF Trade Group 13 or equivalent)
- Trade authorisations such as QSEAC or AVMEDSE
- Additional technical qualifications in aircrew equipment or specialist systems (desirable)
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
