About the Role
As a People Administrator, you’ll join our Employee Lifecycle Team, a specialist function responsible for delivering accurate, efficient, and customer‑focused people services across Babcock. This is an exciting opportunity to build your career within a respected global organisation supporting the defence, aerospace, and engineering sectors. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring employees and managers receive a high‑quality service throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll gain valuable exposure to human resources administration, payroll processes, employee relations, compliance, and customer service, developing skills that can support long‑term career progression within Babcock.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Assisting with employee and manager enquiries, ensuring guidance is aligned with company policies and employment legislation.
- Owning and delivering employee lifecycle cases across a range of people administration activities.
- Ensuring processes are completed accurately and in line with legislative and company requirements, including data protection and employment law.
- Resolving payroll‑related queries by working closely with Payroll and Time and Attendance teams.
- Maintaining employee benefit schemes, including pensions, private medical cover, and driver checks with external providers.
This role is based at RAF Valley and is 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience working in a busy human resources, people administration, or employee services environment.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
- Experience working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with employees and managers at all levels.
- Exposure to payroll administration or payroll‑related processes.
Qualifications
Essential: GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
Desirable: Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Level 3 qualification. National Vocational Qualification Level 2 in Business Administration. Working towards a relevant people, business administration, or human resources qualification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
