The role
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You play a pivotal role in shaping the engineering solutions that help us secure and deliver major programmes across the nuclear sector. This is a full‑time position, and you will work from any of our main locations including Bristol, Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicester) and Preston (Lancashire). Flexible working patterns are available.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering inputs for bids and live projects, ensuring safe, compliant and timely delivery.
- Coordinate engineering scope, schedules, governance activities and resource planning.
- Shape engineering solutions that are competitive, robust and aligned to customer requirements.
- Manage engineering risks, safety considerations and verification and validation plans.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, partners and customers to ensure clear communication and technical alignment.
Essential experience of the Engineering Manager:
- Experience working within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, chemical, defence or aerospace.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across diverse technical disciplines.
- Strong commercial and business awareness in a technical environment.
- Bids experience is not essential — development will be provided.
Qualifications for the Engineering Manager:
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent) with significant demonstrable experience.
- Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards it.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
