The role involves providing specialist information security assurance across multiple Major Infrastructure Projects within the Defence Nuclear Enterprise. These programmes deliver complex digital, IT and operational technology systems that must meet stringent Ministry of Defence, regulatory and corporate security requirements.

Day-to-day, you’ll act as the trusted authority on information security risk, assurance and compliance, shaping secure outcomes across the full delivery lifecycle. You will work closely with project teams, engineers, architects and senior stakeholders, influencing design decisions, governance approvals and operational readiness.

  • Leading information security assurance across multiple major infrastructure programmes
  • Developing and maintaining assurance plans, aligned with recognised delivery frameworks
  • Interpreting and applying MOD, regulatory and corporate security standards
  • Owning key assurance artefacts, including risk registers, control mappings and evidence
  • Engaging with stakeholders and assurance bodies, including MOD-facing audits and reviews

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience delivering information security assurance within defence or highly regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of UK government and MOD security standards and frameworks
  • Demonstrated capability in information security risk management and assurance documentation
  • Experience supporting complex programmes or projects through assurance and governance activities
  • Confidence influencing multidisciplinary teams and engaging with senior stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • NCSC Certified Cyber Professional (CCP) – Security and Information Risk Advisor or Accreditor - Desirable
  • Professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or equivalent - Desirable
  • Experience or training related to nuclear or high‑security environments - Desirable

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
