The role:

As a Facility Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of the planning activity that underpins complex, high‑value submarine support programmes. Working within a high‑performing planning team, you’ll help shape, maintain and improve the schedules that enable confident decision‑making across major defence engineering projects.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Support the Senior Planner by developing, maintaining and implementing planning schedules for operations and maintenance activities
  • Compile and standardise planning and project data to ensure consistency, accuracy and clarity
  • Produce high‑level schedule visuals and reports for programme reviews and stakeholder briefings
  • Attend project meetings and represent planning activity when required
  • Collaborate with colleagues across project controls, engineering and wider support teams to integrate facility schedules and manage change

This is a full‑time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week, based onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Set working times are Monday to Thursday 7:30am-3:30pm and Friday 7:30am-12:30pm.

Essential experience of the Facility Planner:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A logical, organised approach with attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with a range of internal stakeholders
  • An interest in planning, scheduling or project environments within engineering or infrastructure

Qualifications for the Facility Planner:

  • GCSEs or equivalent academic qualifications
  • P6 Fundamentals and Advanced (desirable)
  • AMP Planning Foundations Qualification (desirable)
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable)

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
