The role:
- As a Construction Supervisor, you’ll take a hands‑on role in delivering construction activities across complex infrastructure projects.
- Supporting the Construction Manager, you’ll be accountable for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
- Day‑to‑day, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in critical defence programmes—helping to ensure that essential infrastructure is delivered to the highest standards.
- You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where safety, quality and teamwork are central, while developing your skills and experience within a highly regulated, purpose‑driven industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing day‑to‑day construction activities on site, ensuring work is delivered safely and in line with procedures.
- Coordinating contractors and overseeing installation works across packages of construction activity.
- Leading site meetings, inductions and briefings, ensuring effective communication across teams.
- Maintaining site records, including progress tracking, inspections, and verification activities.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience:
- Experience managing contractors and supervising site installation works safely.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical environments, ideally within construction or infrastructure.
- Ability to manage daily site activities and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both site operatives and management teams.
Qualifications:
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card (Gold card).
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme qualification.
- Temporary works or lifting qualifications – Desirable.
- NVQ Level 6 or 7 in Construction Management – Desirable.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
