The role

As a Project Manager, you’ll be at the heart of delivering world-class nuclear facilities that support the UK’s submarine and equipment programmes. This is a unique opportunity to lead transformational projects that directly contribute to national defence and security. You’ll manage complex programmes across safety, scope, schedule, finance, risk, and quality, making a real impact on society while advancing your career in one of the most dynamic and noble sectors.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead and deliver complex infrastructure projects by:

  • Leading and developing a team of Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers
  • Managing customer interfaces and stakeholder relationships, including risk identification and mitigation
  • Planning and delivering the full project lifecycle, including performance reporting and issue escalation
  • Overseeing physical works and ensuring high safety standards throughout delivery
  • Establishing governance frameworks with clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1-2 days in the office/onsite and 4-5 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Manager

  • Proven experience in project management techniques and delivery
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to present complex information in clear, accessible formats
  • Experience managing resources and mentoring teams
  • Understanding of tender assessment and supply chain management

Qualifications for the Project Manager

  • Essential: NVQ Level 4 in an engineering discipline or equivalent business qualification (e.g. BTEC HNC in management)
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent
  • Preferred: Experience delivering projects within nuclear or highly regulated environments

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
