Coordinate safe, compliant transport operations in a military aviation environment.

At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. We’re looking for a Transport Coordinator to join our Aviation business, based on site at RAF Digby, Lincolnshire (LN4 3LH), supporting military transport and MT operations. This is a key operational coordination role, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and tasking are scheduled and controlled safely, compliantly, and efficiently in line with MOD, civilian, and company requirements.

The role:

  • Support the day‑to‑day planning and allocation of transport tasks, working closely with the MT Controller, drivers, and wider station stakeholders.
  • Help ensure full compliance with transport legislation, licensing, and operational procedures while maintaining high service and safety standards.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Coordinate daily transport tasking, driver allocation, and duty rosters.
  • Ensure drivers are correctly licensed, qualified, and compliant before tasking.
  • Check vehicle documentation and complete required pre‑departure and arrival checks.
  • Support compliance with MOD, civilian transport legislation, and operator licence requirements.
  • Work with the MT Controller to maintain safe, effective transport operations.

This is a full‑time, permanent role, working Monday to Thursday 08:00–17:00 and Friday 08:00–16:00, based on site.

Essential experience:

  • A well‑organised coordinator with strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence working in a regulated or safety‑critical environment.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • A proactive, calm approach to managing changing priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (Category B).
  • Category C or D licence is desirable but not essential.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.

What we offer:

  • Generous holiday allowance.
  • Matched contribution pension scheme, with life assurance.
  • Access to a Digital GP, annual health check, and nutritional consultations through Aviva DigiCare+.
  • Employee shopping savings portal.
  • Payment of Professional Fees.
  • Reservists in the armed forces receive 10-days special paid leave.
  • Holiday Trading is a benefit that allows UK Babcock employees to buy additional leave or to sell up to one working week of annual leave from their annual entitlement.
  • ‘Be Kind Day’ enables employees to take one working day's paid leave a year (or equivalent hours) to undertake volunteering work with their chosen organisation or registered charity.
