The role:

  • Providing expert advice on radiological safety across nuclear-related projects
  • Identifying hazards and carrying out consequence assessments for new and existing designs
  • Developing and embedding radiation protection measures into facilities and operations
  • Supporting project teams with specialist knowledge of shielding, containment and monitoring systems
  • Influencing stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role or transferable expertise in radiological safety
  • Applying strong analytical skills to complex technical challenges
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Building relationships and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
  • Delivering critical messages with confidence in challenging environments

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a science-based discipline
  • Accredited Radiation Protection Advisor is desirable
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject is desirable

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
