The role:

  • As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex, large‑scale engineering projects across the marine, offshore, and liquefied gas sectors.
  • You’ll work at the heart of multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical excellence and effective coordination from concept through to delivery.
  • This role offers a dynamic environment where you’ll develop your technical and project management capabilities, gain exposure to international stakeholders, and contribute to innovative engineering solutions that make a real‑world impact.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities:

  • Leading and coordinating project engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Managing project scope, schedules, documentation and progress reporting to ensure successful delivery.
  • Preparing technical specifications and engaging with suppliers, including resolving technical and supply chain issues.
  • Supporting project governance by applying risk management and compliance processes.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers and regulatory bodies to drive project success.

This is a full‑time role, 37.5 hours per week, based at Rosyth with hybrid working patterns available. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites, including international locations, will be expected.

Essential experience of the Project Engineer:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting engineering projects including planning, scheduling and reporting.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing technical interfaces.
  • Proven ability to prepare and manage technical documentation, specifications and drawings.
  • Experience applying project management and risk processes in an engineering environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications for the Project Engineer:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within an industrial, marine, offshore or process engineering environment is desirable.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain BPSS clearance for this role.
