The role

As an Infrastructure Maintenance Legionella Manager, you’ll take a pivotal leadership role in safeguarding critical defence infrastructure by ensuring the effective delivery of Legionella management across the Clyde estate. This is an opportunity to shape the reliability, safety and performance of essential assets that support national security. You’ll guide a team of specialists and engineers, influence long‑term asset strategies, and contribute to a mission that genuinely matters. This role offers a platform for significant professional growth — from developing your leadership capability to deepening your expertise in asset management within one of the UK’s most complex engineering environments.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Team Coaches, Specialists and Engineers delivering Legionella safety across the Clyde estate.
  • Oversee all Legionella management activities within your allocated area (e.g., Faslane or Coulport).
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to implement and enhance the Asset Management Strategy.
  • Ensure work is effectively programmed to prevent asset failure and maintain operational readiness.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to ensure business objectives and customer expectations are met.

You’ll be working full-time, Monday to Thursday, 36 hours per week, based on site at our HMNB Clyde site.

Essential experience

  • Extensive experience in Legionella management.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, including SFG20 for Planned Preventive Maintenance.
  • Understanding of asset management practices and standards such as ISO 55001.
  • Experience working with Safe Systems of Work and relevant Health, Safety.
