The role
As a Driver you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Carrying out driving duties within the scope of current Road Traffic Legislation, Transport Law and local publications. Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
- Ensure vehicle daily and weekly before, during and after use checks are carried out and recorded.
- Ensure all vehicle documentation is completed as required.
- Ensure vehicle defects are documented and reported to Control staff.
- The refuelling, washing, cleaning and roadworthiness check of fleet vehicles as required.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF High Wycombe, near Buckinghamshire. You'll work an average of 40 hours a week on a shift basis, however you'll need to be flexible as there may be changes to the roster from time to time, to meet customer needs.
Essential experience of the Driver
- Experience of working with similar type vehicles.
- Diplomacy and customer service skills is required within the role; previous examples of similar experience essential.
- Have the ability to effectively work independently and be team focused.
- Demonstrate a capability to deliver excellent customer service.
Qualifications for the Driver
- Driver qualification licence card (Driver CPC)
- CAT D1 License
- CAT D License (Desirable)
- Digital tachograph card, with sound knowledge of Driver's Hours Regulation in accordance with EU Directive 561/2006

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
