Role Type: Full time / Permanent

Lead the delivery of critical defence infrastructure that protects the nation. At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Project Manager at our HMNB Clyde Faslane site.

The role:

  • Leading the end‑to‑end delivery of major infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and cost targets are met.
  • Managing and developing a team of project managers and assistant project managers across multiple workstreams.
  • Coordinating designers, consultants, contractors and stakeholders through all RIBA stages.
  • Overseeing procurement, tendering and contract management using industry-standard forms.
  • Driving strong governance, risk management and financial control across your portfolio.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday, based at HMNB Clyde Faslane and provides hybrid working arrangements following an initial on‑site period.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience leading teams within a construction, engineering or complex infrastructure environment.
  • Strong track record delivering large, high‑value and technically complex infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of NEC4, JCT or similar standard forms of contract.
  • Experience across feasibility, design development and front‑end engineering design.
  • Practical use of modern project management tools and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or HNC with significant experience in a relevant construction or engineering discipline.
  • Full membership or working towards membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS, CIOB, APM or CEng.
  • APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent is desirable. Working towards Chartered status is advantageous.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
