The role:
As a Senior Human Factors Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of driving safety culture and human performance across HMNB Clyde. This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a site-wide Human Factors Strategy, supporting transformational safety improvement initiatives that make a real difference to our people, operations, and national defence.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be:
- Facilitating and delivering multiple operational safety improvement projects across the site.
- Leading group workshops to drive safety learning and continuous improvement.
- Coaching individuals and teams in using improvement tools and techniques.
- Supporting the Health & Safety Improvement Manager in tasking the Safety Improvement team.
- Mentoring Safety Culture Coordinators and Departmental Coordinators.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience:
- Strong knowledge of legal and statutory frameworks relevant to health, safety and environment.
- Professional expertise in human factors disciplines such as Occupational Psychology or Ergonomics.
- Proven experience in complex human factor analysis and application of diverse tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with safety culture measurement and improvement methodologies.
- Ability to confidently deliver training and facilitate workshops with varied stakeholder groups.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Psychology, Psychology or equivalent.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
