The role:

As a Multi Coded Welder, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team supporting the Royal Navy’s fleet. You’ll carry out critical welding tasks on submarines and surface vessels, ensuring structural integrity and operational readiness. This is a hands-on role where your precision and expertise will directly contribute to national defence and maritime safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality welds using MMA, Flux Core, and TIG techniques on pipework and structural components
  • Identifying and rectifying defects in systems and manufacturing processes
  • Enhancing welding processes and techniques to improve efficiency and quality
  • Complying with Health & Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work
  • Collaborating with a multi-skilled team to support routine and emergent welding activities

This is a full-time role, working 36 hours per week, based on site at Clyde.

Essential experience:

  • Extensive experience as a multi-coded welder, proficient in MMA, Flux Core, and TIG
  • Strong background in pipework and structural coding
  • Familiarity with welds subject to non-destructive and destructive testing
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment

Qualifications:

  • A recognised fabrication/welding Apprenticeship to at least N/SVQ Level 3

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
