The role:

As a Lead Project Manager, you’ll lead multiple complex projects that directly support the Royal Navy and national security, making a tangible difference to the UK’s defence capability. This is an opportunity to influence high‑profile programmes, drive innovation, and develop your leadership skills in a dynamic environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Managing customer and stakeholder relationships to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Leading integrated project teams to achieve performance targets.
  • Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for projects.
  • Planning, monitoring, and controlling project delivery.
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes and outcomes.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:15 – 16:45 and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience:

  • Proven expertise in project management and risk management techniques.
  • Strong understanding of business processes (HR, Finance, Commercial).
  • Experience with procurement and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Proficiency in business applications.

Qualifications:

  • Professional project qualification such as APM PMQ or PRINCE2.
  • Working towards or holding chartered membership of a relevant body (RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, APM, PMI) or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant HND or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Level 5 or above Leadership and Management qualification or significant leadership experience.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
