As a Commissioning Electrical Test Engineer - Combat Systems, you’ll contribute to the commissioning and testing of submarine systems, ensuring they perform safely, reliably, and in line with stringent technical standards. This is a hands‑on engineering role that places you at the heart of some of the most advanced defence platforms in the world, giving you the chance to develop your expertise, broaden your technical understanding and make an impact that matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing commissioning and testing activities safely, accurately and to defined procedures.
  • Producing clear and well‑structured technical documentation, including test plans, scripts and result records.
  • Reviewing and verifying technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Capturing and analysing test data, identifying anomalies and summarising findings.
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, project teams and key stakeholders to ensure tasks are delivered on time and to specification.

Essential Experience:

  • Practical electrical experience with a solid understanding of electrical systems, components and wiring practices.
  • Experience completing hands‑on electrical work such as maintenance, assembly or repair.
  • Ability to work systematically with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience producing or maintaining accurate technical documentation.
  • Confidence working within structured engineering or technical environments.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Electrical or Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (training provided if required) – Desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
