We are seeking a HR Advisor to join our HR team at NWS!
As a HR Advisor you will support designated business areas by delivering practical, timely and business-focused HR advice and solutions.
Working in partnership with HR Business Partners, the role drives the effective application of people policies and processes, supports employee relations activity, and contributes to the delivery of HR initiatives that improve organisational performance and employee experience.
- Provide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and best practice, resolving people issues in an efficient and timely way.
This includes offering HR surgeries, HR Workshops and providing value added reports to management teams
- Leading and support on employee relation issues in accordance with legislation requirements including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, occupational health and performance improvement, working closely with the HRBPs.
- Support the HR Business Partner in delivering meetings, casework and project activity, with responsibility for agreed areas during periods of absence.
- Track and monitor sickness absence in conjunction with the Health & Wellbeing Lead for designated business areas, ensuring plans and support are in place.
Support absence touchpoint meetings for those staff on long term sick requesting management referral appointments where appropriate.
- Support the development of HR metrics for their designated business area, including but not limited to sickness absence, workload assessment and exit data.
- Analysing data and making recommendations to the business
- Supporting the business with the annual bonus and pay award processes for their area.
Maintaining a strong working knowledge of payroll production and checking processes to provide support during periods of leave of absence.
- Monitor and analyse exit interview data, identifying themes and providing actionable feedback to managers and HRBPs.
- Provide SME support to the HR Projects Lead including policy updates and process improvements and demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant legislation.
- Support the team in managing the HR Mailbox, responding to queries from employees and leaders in a timely manner
- Manage flexible working and family leave requests in line with company policy and statutory requirements.
- Provide oversight and coordination of ill health retirement and Group Income Protection cases, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Coach and support managers to build capability in handling people matters, embedding consistent people practices across the business.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted HR contact for designated functions.
- Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential criteria
- Recognised professional membership and qualification (i. e., Associate Membership of CIPD L5) or equivalent qualification/experience
- Ability to work collaboratively, influence stakeholders, and build strong working relationships.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point, including the ability to analyse data, generate insights, and communicate information clearly
- HR Generalist experiencewith working knowledge of employment law
- Proven experience in employee relations and absence management
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) relationship-building and organisational skills
- HR systems and data management experience
- Comfortable in delivering training across the business on HR processes / policy etc
