The role

As a Global Engineering Capability Lead - Processes, you will take on a high-impact leadership role within our Group Engineering and Technology function. This is your opportunity to shape how engineering is delivered across Babcock globally defining, developing and embedding world‑class processes that enable our teams to deliver complex programmes in defence, aerospace and engineering. You will drive consistency, quality and innovation across a global engineering workforce, influencing how teams collaborate and deliver in highly regulated environments. This is a career‑defining opportunity where your work will directly support national security, critical infrastructure, and future‑focused engineering solutions.

Day‑to‑day, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving the development and implementation of global engineering processes across the organisation
  • Designing system architectures that integrate engineering with project management, quality, and supply chain functions
  • Creating and rolling out training programmes such as the Global Engineering Framework and Product Lifecycle processes
  • Embedding consistent, high‑quality engineering standards across sectors and international operations
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders to influence change and deliver measurable improvements

This role is full‑time, 37.5 hours per week and can be based at one of our main UK locations including Warrington, Bristol, Devonport, Leicester, Rosyth. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrating experience delivering projects and business transformation in large, complex engineering organisations
  • Applying strong knowledge of engineering design lifecycle processes within regulated environments
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple levels
  • Using systems engineering principles to deliver robust engineering solutions
  • Communicating complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent qualification aligned to professional engineering standards
  • Eligibility for professional registration or membership (for example Chartered Engineer status)
  • Ongoing commitment to Continuing Professional Development
  • Additional training in engineering, technical or management disciplines (systems engineering preferred)

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
