The role:

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role within our Mission Systems providing commercial leadership across complex, business‑critical contracts. This is a role with scale, influence and impact supporting customer missions, enabling sustainable growth, and shaping commercial strategies that balance performance, innovation and risk. You’ll lead high‑value contract management activities, support negotiations and bid development, and act as a trusted commercial partner to senior stakeholders. Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:

  • Lead commercial contract management and governance across the full contract lifecycle
  • Deliver negotiations, pricing activities and commercial input for new and organic growth opportunities
  • Identify and implement pragmatic, value‑adding commercial solutions that support win‑win outcomes
  • Support and execute commercial strategies aligned to business and customer objectives
  • Mentor and guide commercial team members, sharing best practice and supporting development

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days onsite and rest of week days working from home.

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience leading commercial and contract management activities within complex, matrix organisations
  • Strong background in negotiations, commercial risk management and contractual frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience supporting bid activity, proposals and pricing strategies
  • Ability to operate confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience leading, inspiring and developing people at all levels

Qualifications:

  • Ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Law, Accountancy but not essential.
  • Functional qualifications achieved, or would be willing to work towards, may include Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM), or Post Graduate Certificate in Commercial Management (PGCCM)

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
