What you’ll be doing:

  • Gain an excellent understanding of our product lines and how they operate.
  • Develop your knowledge, skills and experience across the different aspects of the Application Engineering discipline and wider Commercial function in an engineered to order environment.
  • Work on all aspects of pump selection, cost estimating, proposal related activity up to and including final pricing in accordance with the end‑to‑end Tendering Policy & Procedure process.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations & Manufacturing, Project Management, Finance and Legal to appreciate what they do, why they do it, and the associated commercial considerations.
  • Work through a 4‑year internal apprenticeship training programme.
  • Attend day release college and complete all assignments and examinations to obtain relevant publications.
  • Complete SCQF publication in conjunction with the education provider.
  • During the apprenticeship complete and present a variety of projects on engineering subjects related to your training.

Qualifications

You must have a valid right to work in the UK to apply for this role.

Physical Demands

  • Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities are required to perform computer work).
  • Required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Required daily to use hands and fingers and arms to reach (to operate a computer and telephone).
  • Required occasionally to lift and/or move objects that are light to moderate.
  • Required occasionally to travel (usually by air or road so may be required to sit for extended periods).

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work with moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, etc.).
  • Ability to work in an open planned office / individual office.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit in a car or on a plane for extended periods.
