Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Leading on technical accounting positions, including long-term commercial contracts, and preparing high-quality accounting papers
  • Driving the sector financial controls framework, embedding best practice across a large and complex business
  • Managing internal and external audits, acting as a key liaison point and ensuring timely, robust outcomes
  • Influencing senior finance and operational stakeholders, providing clear guidance and constructive challenge
  • Ensuring reporting deadlines and governance requirements are consistently achieved or exceeded

Essential experience includes:

  • Proven background in practice, such as audit or an equivalent technical accounting environment
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including experience with long-term commercial contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change
  • Track record of designing or implementing effective financial controls in complex organisations
  • Experience working to demanding deadlines within a regulated or governed environment

Qualifications required:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience within large, complex or regulated organisations is advantageous

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
