The role
As an NDT Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, performance, and reliability of critical components that support some of the UK’s most important defence and marine programmes. Your work will help protect people, assets, and national security - and you’ll be part of a team where precision, integrity, and technical excellence really matter. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your capability across multiple inspection methods while contributing to projects that shape the future of engineering.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Carry out Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant and Ultrasonic Inspection of components
- Update and communicate inspection metrics to support project delivery
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Apply technical standards and rigorous attention to detail in all inspections
- Undertake project‑specific training and demonstrate proficiency upon completion
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth. Shift patterns for this role are: Two weeks on days: Monday–Thursday (8 hours), Friday (4 hours) and Two weeks on nights: Monday–Thursday (8 hours).
Essential experience of the NDT Technician
- Strong knowledge of non‑destructive testing practices and standards
- Ability to work proactively and respond effectively to changing priorities
- Confident using Microsoft Office and IFS systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and standards
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving capability
Qualifications for the NDT Technician
- PCN Level II in MT, PT and UT (3.1, 3.2, 3.8, 3.9)
- Practical experience applying NDT techniques in a regulated or safety‑critical environment
- Previous experience working in the nuclear industry or similarly regulated sectors
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
