Overview
Reporting to the ICT Passive Infrastructure lead, this individual will be working on projects involving ICT passive infrastructure and building systems.
This will involve full design lifecycle from participation on bid work, designing passive networks and systems through to representing the client's'interests during passive systems installation.
As an ICT Engineer you will be actively involved in the delivery of projects and be able to do so effectively either as part of a team or on an individual level.
You will be involved in development of the capability will assist to secure interesting work.
- The role may occasionally require travel to other UK mainland locations, including overnight stays, and there are opportunities for overseas work.
- You will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.

Your role
This role will act as an ICT Engineer working as part of a team on various projects for a number of clients. The role will include:
- Passive systems ICT design work including Auto CAD designs and writing technical documents and specifications.
- Building systems design work including Auto CAD designs and writing technical documents and specifications.
- Liaison with other contractors, companies, suppliers and internal engineering disciplines.
- Have past experience and proven competence in passive system design on large and small projects.
- Support bid work, including assisting with responses to PQQ and ITT.
About you
- Technical Competencies
- ICT design and project management experience and qualifications, such as an Engineering degree, Cisco qualifications, APMP, NVQs, HNC or HND, or Modern Apprenticeship.
- Working towards or have attained CEng status.
• Knowledge and experience of
- Copper and fibre infrastructure systems and standards
- Data Centre design and standards
- OSP & ISP design and standards
- Small power and BS7671 requirements
- Building systems such as Access Control, Intruder Detection, CCTV, Fire Detection/Suppression and HVAC.
- Good working knowledge of standards applicable to ICT Infrastructure
- Have good relevant experience and understanding of building services infrastructure is essential.
- Competent in understanding and use of MS Project, Auto CAD, and MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Able to create documents/reports/processes and deliver presentations appropriate to the needs of the recipient.
Desirable attributes include
- Mo D, Government or Nuclear experience.
- Mo D CIDA qualification and/or working knowledge of JSP453 and other relevant Mo D publications.
- Prince 2 or PMI qualification.
- RCDD qualification.
- Experience of RIBA stages of design.
