The role:
- Provide strategic leadership across multiple infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring successful delivery against cost, schedule, quality and performance objectives.
- Play a key role in developing project management capability, driving governance excellence, and influencing decisions at a senior level.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent construction and infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle.
- Manage, coach and develop Project Managers and wider project delivery teams to achieve outstanding performance.
- Drive project governance, assurance activities and the review of key project plans, reports and deliverables.
- Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders, acting as an escalation point for project risks and programme-level decisions.
- Oversee portfolio planning, resource allocation, forecasting and financial performance across a range of projects.
Essential experience:
- Significant experience delivering large-scale construction and infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects, programmes or portfolios with accountability for cost, schedule and quality.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing Project Managers or project delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial frameworks, including NEC, JCT or FIDIC.
- Experience operating within regulated environments with strong knowledge of compliance, health, safety and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional membership with a recognised institution such as CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, APM or equivalent.
- Formal Project Management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- SMSTS certification or equivalent construction site management qualification.
- IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety certification.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
