The role:
As a Senior Buyer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering efficient, high‑quality procurement services that directly support complex engineering and defence programmes. Reporting to the Operational Procurement Manager, you’ll lead the execution of the requisition‑to‑pay process across a defined scope, ensuring value, performance and compliance at every stage. This is a role where your expertise will truly matter. You’ll manage significant spend, influence supplier performance, and support major programmes that contribute to national security. Alongside this, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your leadership capability, shape processes, and build a long‑term career within a global organisation that invests in its people.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Managing the end‑to‑end requisition‑to‑pay process, including order placement, expediting and post‑order management
- Driving improvements in procurement performance, lead times, delivery metrics and invoice accuracy
- Developing and managing supplier relationships, including performance, risk and opportunity planning
- Producing ITT documentation, evaluations and robust contractual agreements
- Collaborating closely with Category Management and Project Procurement teams to support business priorities
This is a full‑time, permanent role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available, balancing on‑site collaboration with flexibility.
Essential experience of the Senior Buyer:
- Working as a procurement professional within a complex or regulated environment
- Using ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or Oracle, including e‑procurement tools
- Managing contracts, negotiations and commercial terms and conditions
- Prioritising multiple requirements with strong attention to detail
- Engaging confidently with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications for the Senior Buyer:
- Degree‑level qualification or equivalent professional experience
- MCIPS, studying towards MCIPS, or an equivalent professional qualification (desirable but not essential)

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
