The role:
- As a Design Engineer, you’ll be accountable for delivering accurate, safe and efficient designs that meet clearly defined requirements.
- You will play a key role in creating innovative and functional vehicle conversions, owning the design journey from early concept through to production and in service support.
Day to day you’ll be required to:
- Design and develop vehicle systems and conversions from concept through to validated, production ready solutions.
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and associated technical documentation.
- Support performance analysis, testing, validation and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver against cost, quality and schedule requirements.
- Apply engineering standards, processes and best practice to ensure safe and compliant designs.
The role is based onsite at Walsall, and the set working times are Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00, Friday 08:00 to 13:00, totalling 39 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Design Engineer:
- Experience working within an automotive or vehicle focused engineering environment.
- Strong technical understanding of engineering standards, processes, components and design techniques.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and deliver work to project deadlines.
- Well developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability.
Qualifications for the Design Engineer:
- Degree qualified in an engineering related subject or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and NPPV1 security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
