The role:

  • As a Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across one of our most important programmes.
  • Working within a collaborative Project Quality team, you’ll provide expert guidance to ensure outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements on time, every time.
  • This is a varied and highly visible role where you’ll engage with internal teams and customers, influence quality performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • You’ll gain exposure to complex engineering programmes, enhancing your professional growth while making a real impact.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:

  • Represent the customer’s interests and help to maintain the open and collaborative relationship we have.
  • Oversee progress and sign‑off the delivery process to give the customer assurance their requirements have been met.
  • Collect, analyse and report on quality performance data.
  • Lead investigations into quality escapes, managing through to preventative action using suitable tools and techniques.
  • Provide Quality expertise into future business opportunities (bids and proposals).

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 to 2 days onsite although there may be occasions to work onsite more depending on business needs.

Essential experience of the Senior Quality Engineer:

  • A proficient quality assurance engineer with experience in a related industry and familiar with how quality applies throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience of implementing quality improvements and encouraging culture change within a team or organisation while in a customer‑facing role.
  • Experience of auditing quality ISO9001 management systems.
  • Excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem‑solving techniques, and ability to provide guidance to others in their use (e.g. Pareto, FMEA, 5 why's, 8D, etc.).
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and ability to give examples of how you have used them in previous situations.

Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer:

  • ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a quality, science, engineering discipline.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 auditing.
  • Membership of a recognised quality institute such as CQI is desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
