The role

As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering critical components for one of the UK’s most significant nuclear new build programmes. This role is 37 hours per week, based in Bristol. Flexible working patterns are available, and travel to other Babcock, customer, and European supplier sites will be expected.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Leading procurement and delivery of electrical bulk equipment including cables, cable trays, and associated systems
  • Developing and implementing project execution plans, including preparing tender documentation and managing contract lifecycles
  • Managing NEC contracts and ensuring alignment with project strategy, cost efficiency, and quality standards
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across complex programme interfaces
  • Influencing suppliers, partners, and internal teams to ensure integration and successful project outcomes

Essential experience of the Project Manager:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects in a highly regulated or high hazard industry
  • Strong track record of managing NEC contracts or similar frameworks such as FIDIC
  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders within complex programmes
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • Understanding of electrical systems and their integration within wider engineering environments

Qualifications for the Project Manager:

  • Recognised project management qualification such as Association for Project Management (APM) or equivalent
  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, project management, or a related discipline (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
