The role:

As a Product Security Engineer - Information Assurance, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding complex engineering systems that support national security and critical infrastructure. Working within our Mission Systems team, you’ll lead and influence how security is designed into systems from concept to operation, ensuring robust protection against evolving threats. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge defence and engineering projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and gaining exposure to advanced technologies. You’ll shape secure solutions that truly make a difference while developing your expertise in cyber security, risk management and information assurance.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Information Assurance Strategies to meet complex customer security requirements.
  • Lead risk management activities that align with an industry standard such as NIST SP 800‑37 or the ISO/IEC 27000 series.
  • Create and maintain security documentation including system security plans, policies, procedures, and compliance evidence.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert guidance on security and assurance matters.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

Essential experience:

  • The ability to interpret and implement industry security standards and frameworks such as the ISO/IEC 27000 series or NIST SP‑800 series.
  • Experience in information assurance, security engineering, cyber security, or a similar field.
  • Deep understanding of security risk management and assurance methodologies & processes.
  • Experience working across multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical security risk to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in nuclear, defence, or similarly regulated sectors (desirable).

Qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education qualification or industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Must be Sole UK National. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
