The role:

  • As a Finance Business Partnering Manager, you’ll take on a senior, influential position within our Mission Systems business.
  • Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll own financial performance across a complex portfolio of programmes, providing insight that shapes strategic, commercial and operational decisions.
  • This is a role for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering the business, developing people and driving high standards of governance.
  • You’ll be trusted, visible and empowered to make a difference – strengthening outcomes for national security while accelerating your own leadership and career progression.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Lead end-to-end financial performance across your business area and act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders.
  • Drive high-quality forecasting, budgeting and management reporting to support effective decision-making.
  • Manage financial risks, opportunities and contingencies in line with governance and audit expectations.
  • Support contract reviews, programme reviews and senior governance forums.
  • Develop and inspire a high-performing finance team, including deputising for the Finance Director when required.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance business partnering role.
  • Strong background in forecasting, budgeting, contract accounting and financial control.
  • Experience influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders.
  • People leadership experience with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail within a regulated environment.

Qualifications:

  • You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience in management accounting, project or contract-based environments.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
