The role:
- As an Armaments Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational readiness of defence vehicles and equipment.
- Working within a skilled and collaborative team, you will carry out essential servicing, maintenance, repair and modification activities that ensure critical assets are safe, compliant and ready for use.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, repair and modification of defence vehicles and armament systems.
- Inspect equipment to diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Complete equipment examinations to meet production and operational requirements.
- Ensure all work is delivered safely, to quality standards and in line with compliance procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver reliable and timely outputs.
The role is based onsite at Ashchurch, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.
Essential experience:
- Experience undertaking servicing, maintenance, repair and modification activities.
- Ability to inspect, diagnose faults and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience carrying out equipment examination to meet production requirements.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Level 3 qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
