Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Clitheroe. This role is ideal for a final‑year apprentice or someone who has recently completed a time‑served engineering apprenticeship. The successful candidate will gain practical experience maintaining and supporting precision CNC machinery, ensuring smooth production operations and high equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preventative and reactive maintenance of CNC machines, milling, turning, and associated workshop equipment
- Support fault diagnosis and repair under supervision, ensuring minimal production downtime
- Assist in installing, calibrating, and setting up new machinery
- Carry out basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance tasks
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with company safety policies and industry regulations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inspections
- Support adherence to AS9100 and ISO 19443 traceability and compliance requirements
- Gain hands‑on experience in precision engineering maintenance practices
- Work closely with experienced maintenance engineers to develop technical skills
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
