Are you a highly organised planner who enjoys bringing people, priorities and deadlines together to keep critical work on track? At Dungeness A, you’ll play an important role in ensuring essential maintenance is carefully coordinated and delivered within strict timescales, helping the site meet its nuclear, radiological, environmental and statutory requirements.
Joining the established Work Control team, you’ll be at the centre of short-term site planning, working across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects and Construction. You’ll have visibility across a diverse programme of activity, using the Passport (Asset Suite 9) Work Management System to help turn competing requirements into an achievable, fully integrated delivery plan. It’s an opportunity to make a tangible difference every day in a highly regulated environment where good planning really matters.
As a Work Control Scheduler, you’ll take ownership of the site’s three-week look-ahead delivery plan, bringing together activities from multiple teams to create a clear, coordinated and achievable schedule. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the site to understand priorities, resources and dependencies, proactively identifying potential clashes or constraints and helping ensure planned work can be delivered successfully.
Communication will be a key part of your role. You’ll host and attend planning meetings, maintain oversight of shared resources and work closely with the Compliance Engineer, Construction Planner and wider Construction Office. Your ability to keep information accurate and current will help ensure maintenance and other critical activities are completed and signed off within the required timescales.
What Will You Be Doing
- Manage and continually update the site’s three-week look-ahead delivery plan, ensuring individual team plans are fully integrated.
- Work daily with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Project teams to ensure activities are appropriately planned, coordinated and resourced.
- Maintain oversight of shared resources, dependencies and interactions, proactively addressing potential issues that could impact delivery.
- Lead and contribute to planning meetings, providing clear visibility of priorities, progress and upcoming activities.
Who Are We Looking For
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, collaborative environment and has the confidence to coordinate activities across multiple teams and stakeholders. You’ll need an ONC/BTEC Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge in an appropriate technical discipline, or relevant planning and coordination experience gained within a nuclear site or similar process environment. You’ll be proactive, approachable and detail-focused, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to keep plans moving as priorities evolve.
Previous planning experience would be advantageous, particularly within a complex industrial or highly regulated environment. Knowledge of industrial, radiological or nuclear safety standards and procedures would also be beneficial, as would experience using Asset Suite 9, Primavera P6 or other planning software. What matters most is your ability to bring structure to complex activity, build effective working relationships and maintain focus on safe, successful delivery.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to work effectively with different disciplines across the site.
- Previous maintenance, work control or planning experience within nuclear, process, industrial or similarly complex environments would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with computerised work management and planning systems would be an advantage.
