Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations and research sites. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at a hydroelectric plant. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development. About The Role

Are you looking for a rewarding role where your work directly contributes to one of the UK’s most significant environmental missions? At Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS), we’re safely and securely decommissioning the Hunterston A Site — and we’re looking for a motivated Radiological Clerk to join our team. You will support our Radiological Protection Engineers by helping deliver an essential dosimetry and access service, ensuring we remain compliant with key national regulations and providing excellent customer service and quality administrative support within the EHSS&Q team.

Key Deliverables

  • Support the site Radiological Protection Team, maintaining Site Dosimetry Services to support controlled access to radiological areas.
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to other site EHSS&Q functions when required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining record systems and processes associated with issue, return and control of dosimetry.
  • Ensuring all requirements for site and Controlled Area entry are in place.
  • Accurately updating and maintaining databases and access control systems.
  • Providing administrative support to the Pre-employment screening process.
  • Processing of access paperwork, including new and renewal site pass and dosimetry applications.
  • Responding to customer and client queries, resolving issues within your level of experience and competence.
  • Maintaining efficient filing and retrieval systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of administrative systems and processes.

Qualifications

  • Educated to NQF level 2 / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification (Essential).
  • A computer literacy qualification (Desirable).

Experience

  • Experience delivering a broad range of administrative support activities (Essential).
  • Working knowledge of databases / IT Office systems (Desirable).
