Would you like to play an important role in keeping critical information accurate, controlled and accessible as Hunterston B moves through an important phase of its lifecycle? Join the site’s Document Management team as a Document Controller and you’ll have the opportunity to work in a varied, customer-facing role where attention to detail really matters.
Reporting to the Document Centre Team Leader, you’ll help ensure documentation and records meet company, regulatory and site licence requirements throughout the site’s Deconstruction phase. You’ll work with colleagues and stakeholders across the site, providing a responsive and professional service while helping maintain high standards of document and records management.
What will you be doing?
No two days will be exactly the same. You’ll be at the heart of the site’s document control activities, processing new and updated documents and records, responding to queries and helping colleagues navigate document management processes. You’ll make sure information is complete, accurate, appropriately approved and available when it’s needed.
- Managing document control requests, correspondence and workflows, responding to queries and following up actions to keep information moving efficiently.
- Reviewing documentation before issue, checking formatting, references, approvals and version control to ensure it meets the required standards.
- Managing project documentation, registers and databases, including filing and maintaining controlled information on SharePoint and issuing unique document references.
- Ensuring completed and superseded records are appropriately archived and retained, while providing accurate and helpful document management support to stakeholders across the site.
Who are we looking for?
You’ll be someone who takes pride in getting the details right. You’ll be comfortable working in a process-driven environment where priorities can change and deadlines matter, with the confidence to work independently while being a collaborative and supportive member of the team. Strong communication and relationship-building skills will also be important, as you’ll regularly work with different stakeholders across the site.
You’ll need to hold NQF Level 2 / SCQF Level 5 qualifications, for example in English and Mathematics, and have strong attention to detail with experience of quality control and maintaining accurate documentation. A good understanding of systems, processes and regulatory requirements is essential, as is a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
We’d also be particularly interested if you can bring:
- Experience gained within document control, records management or another structured, process-driven environment.
- The ability to organise your workload, prioritise effectively and deliver accurate work in a demanding, time-critical environment.
- Experience of supporting or leading others in a process-driven team and evidence of continuing professional development.
