Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations and research sites. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at a hydroelectric plant. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

The site intends to create a training facility for classroom and practical training with a focus on training Radiological Monitoring apprentices through to full competency. If you have a passion for managing early career development and an aptitude for technical, vocational, and safety-based training, we would love to hear from you. The role will coordinate various apprenticeships offered by the site as well as delivering radiological protection and safety-based training.

Key Deliverables:
  • Ensure personal and professional development and training of radiological staff.
  • Delivery of classroom-based learning and practical demonstrations.
  • Leading on the development of training facilities and programmes.
  • Prepare and develop resources conducive to training.
  • Liaising with Line Managers to ensure adequate on-job training.
  • Monitor performance/standards and provide advice as necessary.
  • Contribute to continued improvements and targets specified by the EHSSQ team.
Qualifications And Experience:
  • Educated to at least NQF Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification or relevant radiological protection qualification preferred.
  • Practical experience in own speciality within relevant industry.
  • Knowledge of site arrangements for IRR and EPR compliance.
  • Experience of delivering classroom-based training preferred.
