Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations and research sites. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at a hydroelectric plant. This role is an opportunity to be part of our mission - to safely manage the UK’s civil nuclear legacy.
About the role:
The Hinkley Point A site is progressing with our mission of safely decommissioning the site, and we are recruiting three Production Technicians to support this important work. The role includes:
- Operation of plant to retrieve, process and package legacy solid and wet wastes.
- Complete deplanting works to remove redundant plant.
- Operate site transport vehicles.
We seek people who will conduct their work safely, are team players, and are willing to learn new skills. Daily use of Personal Protective Equipment is required.
This role is based at Hinkley Point A with contractual working hours Monday - Thursday, 07.25 - 17.00.
Other information:
- Starting salary £32,878 - salary upon completion of training £36,790 (anticipated timeframe of 36 months).

- Assist with the installation, commissioning and operation of radioactive waste processing equipment.
- Deplant redundant plant and systems.
- Adhere to safe systems of work and contribute to safety improvements.

- Engage with technical teams to solve routine operational problems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience of working in an industrial environment (essential).
- Appropriate technical qualification or relevant experience (essential).
- Competent use of industrial hand tools and operation of equipment (desirable).
