Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations and research sites. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at a hydroelectric plant.

About the role:

Please note the contractual hours for this role are 07.30 - 17.15 Monday - Thursday, perfect for someone looking for a four day working week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on electrical assets including motors, transformers, switchgear, drives and LV plant.
  • Ensuring maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely and within environmental parameters of the power station.
  • Carry out analysis and fault diagnosis of plant and communicate findings back to the Team Leader or Maintenance Engineer.
  • Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices.
  • Be authorised to hold safety documents and work to prescribed radiological, electrical and mechanical safety rules within radiological and contaminated areas.
  • Follow prescribed work instructions, check sheets and other QA documentation to ensure compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Ability to read and understand a full range of engineering drawings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • (Essential) Appropriate technical qualification e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC ONC, (NQF Level 3).
  • (Essential) Relevant experience in technical area.
  • (Desirable) Experience of working in the Nuclear Industry.

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance. There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based.
