Electrical Maintenance Technician

You’ll join the Maintenance team at Oldbury Power Station, carrying out hands-on electrical maintenance across a range of plant and equipment. The role covers both preventative and reactive work, giving you the opportunity to get involved in fault finding, problem-solving, and keeping systems running reliably.

What will you be doing? You’ll be part of a maintenance team delivering safe and reliable electrical work across the site. The role is hands-on, with a strong focus on fault finding, day-to-day problem solving, and helping to keep plant systems running smoothly. You’ll carry out electrical maintenance across a range of equipment, support teammates when needed, and work within clear safety and operational procedures. There’s also an opportunity to build on your skills, with training provided where needed and a team environment that encourages knowledge sharing. You will do this within a 4-day working week, giving you the space to focus and maintain a better work-life balance.

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
• Fault finding and resolving issues safely
• Following site procedures, standards and risk assessments
• Supporting team development through shared knowledge

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with a solid electrical background, ideally gained in an industrial or similar technical environment. You’ll be confident working hands-on, able to fault find, and comfortable working safely with plant and equipment. Just as important is your approach. We’re looking for someone who works well in a team, communicates clearly, and is happy following procedures while still using their initiative when needed.

Formal qualifications are helpful, but not a barrier. A Level 3 electrical qualification or experience to match is ideal, and knowledge of the 18th Edition wiring regulations and inspection and testing would be beneficial. However, training can be provided for the right person, so we’re open to candidates who may not have everything in place today but are willing to learn and develop.

Additional experience such as working with motors, plant equipment, or holding IPAF or MEWP licences would be useful, but not essential.
