Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description:
- Design and develop sheet metal components, fabricated assemblies, and automation machinery
- Produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
- Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
- Support projects from concept through to manufacture and installation
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards and specifications
- Liaise with internal departments and customers to meet project requirements and deadlines
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and product development activities
- Provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly stages
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and automation equipment design
- Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
